Patient and Family Testimonials
I just wanted to drop you guys a note letting you all know how much I appreciate everything you did for me. I was such a mess when I first got there and everyone helped me do things I couldn’t do for myself. I just hope I was as nice an respectful to everyone there as you were to me. Thank you to all the Nurses, Tech’s and Housekeeping staff. You all make such a great team. The one thing I know for sure is that I would have never made it through the withdrawal symptoms without your help. Thank you all so much.
Thanks, Stephen T.
I wanted to pass along commendations of Arthur Cobb who treated my son while he was a patient at Florida House recently. My husband and I were very grateful for Arthur’s attentiveness and responsiveness. We felt he was acutely conscious of how difficult this was as parents to manage and he wanted to do everything he could to ease our minds as much as possible. There were times — many of them — when he e-mailed us back or called us when he was not working, showing us a dedication to helping parents that was a very welcome and a unique experience for us. Our son has been at a couple of other rehabilitation facilities and Arthur was by far the most responsive and attentive to our anxiety and worry.
Even after John left to transition to an extended care facility, Arthur e-mailed me to ask how the transition went and whether everything was going well. I was particularly impressed by that thoughtfulness.
Thank you for allowing me to share my gratitude and respect for Arthur’s work at Florida House Rehabilitation. Happy Holidays.
Again, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your facility for all you have done for Sam. I am so very grateful to all of you for your investment in him. You are very good at what you do and I regret that I never got the opportunity to meet you. We think very much alike and I find comfort in that and how I deal with Sam.
I will keep in touch and let you know our progress. Again, you will always have a special place in my heart and in my prayers. Thank you does not seem enough but that is all I can offer you and I hope that it speaks to you and to your heart.

I just wanted to drop you a note thanking you for the opportunity, and experience here at The Florida House.
I am leaving on Wednesday February 1st .
I have learned a lot about myself, how to deal with daily life and how my behaviors and addiction affected others. The Staff here, especially the Therapists have really helped me address issues that I feared or tried to block out. The Tech’s are also very good.
I wish Florida House and all of you continued success. Who knows, one day I may be back here but as an employee who can give back the great gift given to me “Sobriety and Life ”
-Very truly Yours, Terry

I just wanted to let you know that our days with you last week were so enlightening. I always knew that both “you” and “your program” were excellent but actually seeing you in motion was intense. My heart goes out to you as you work day in and day out with such emotions, conflicts and just the intense of each story. You are one very special person! My heart was touched by each one of those guys and my prayers are with them too!
I have learned that although I have the ability to be strong and give ultimatums, I fall short in the long run. I am going to work on myself here on my end to become even stronger and determine to see results/evidence before giving in. We are praying here that God leads the way!
Thank you for allowing me to participate and to be part of the healing. Looking forward to hearing from you this week!\

Everyone who made this program possible
Thank you for all you have done. You took me in and accepted me when nobody else would. You guided me when I was lost and helped me find meaning to my life. You had faith and love for me when I had none for myself. You guided me to the Sunlight of the spirit where I have learned to live, laugh and love without fear of being judged or accepted. You have helped me find faith in something bigger than me. Because of your services I get to speak to my family and hear them say “We love you”. I have friends that are there for me, as well as I am there for them. You helped me realize that my past, which I no longer regret is my biggest asset to what god wants me to do to help others. I have been reborn and found new meaning to my life and I want you to all know I am grateful for what you do for others.
-God Bless. Love Orrin

Since my son was 15 years old, drugs ruled his life. After attending multiple rehabs where they glossed over the intrinsic pathology of a drug addict, multiple relapses followed. At 28 years old, my son continued to spiral down a dark, deep tunnel where death’s hands were holding on tightly. He brought addiction to heights I never imagined possible. After open heart surgery, he still hadn’t reached rock bottom. Certain I would be planning his funeral, he lie hooked up to a respirator in the Neuro ICU of Delray Beach Hospital. Suddenly, April 8th, 2011, fate intervened in the names of Sherief and Robin of Florida House Experience who opened their arms, hearts and treatment facility to my son. For the first time in 13 years, my son was clean for 5 months. It was only then that I saw a glimmer of the man he could become.
Unlike any other treatment facility where false promises are made and the inadequacies become abundantly obvious , Florida House Experience shines with an expertly executed in depth program which addresses all facets of the addict’s life and his/her family. A major component is Family Week which focuses on honesty, repairing relationships and setting up healthy boundaries. But, more importantly it provides a safe forum for family healing. As luck would have it, Robin was my son’s therapist. Her wisdom, guidance and extraordinary no nonsense perception week after week created an environment where my son thrived. Robin’s words were able to penetrate ears that before heard nothing. How do I thank her for giving my son back his life with the necessary tools to choose to succeed as a responsible and drug free adult? How do I thank Robin for her weekly calls to help me? What words can adequately be used to express the gratitude I have for the “miracle” Robin and her hand picked staff performed? Florida House Experience is held in the utmost highest esteem for helping my son when no other place or person could. My debt to Florida House Experience and to the expertise of the “wonderful and miraculous” Robin can never be repaid in a thousand life times.
PS My son learned integrity, the importance of having a conscience and facing the consequences of his drug addicted choices like a mature adult. Learning a warrant was out for his arrest, he made the decision to turn himself in, rather than procrastinate, and is now in jail awaiting the results of his mistakes. He hopes to return to Florida House Experience to enter phase two once he “pays” for the err of his ways. For the first time in his life, again thanks to “my” special Robin, my son is handling his own wrongdoings with courage.

The day our son, entered your program was the day we finally felt like there was hope. As parents we tried everything we thought would help him, making many mistakes along the way. We finally realized that his addiction along with his depression and anxiety issues were not something we could handle ourselves.
We want to thank everyone at Florida House, especially Jennifer, for everything they have done for him. Jennifer has not only made a HUGE impact on our son but has helped us too. Jennifer taught us about enabling (something we unfortunately did). He opened up to her. Even though he’s stubborn and see-saws in his actions, he is learning a new way of thinking and living. He said he did not realize he could have this much fun straight. He’s apologized to us for what he’s put us through and thanked us many times for sending him to The Florida House.
His decision to continue on in the Florida Houses sober living program was a decision we were thrilled with. He’s finally making choices that will benefit him. That is a BIG step for him! We are excited and hopeful for this next phase at Peter Marinelli’s sober living program.
We know recovery is an ongoing day by day process, but we are so hopeful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
-Glenn and Cathy Z.
“My family and I are so grateful to the Florida House and all the employees, especially Jennifer Lorey. This has been the greatest gift to all of us. As we continue to take it day by day we see a big change in our daughter. Our two meetings with Jennifer have taught me so much, not only about her but what I need to work on for myself. Your program and staff is the best I’ve seen and I have seen quite a few. If there is ever anything that I can do to help your program, please do not hesitate to ask.” -Sincerely, Kelly
“We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone at Florida House for helping our son. We are also grateful for the medical staff that was able to stabilize our son on his medications. Family weekend with Robin and Jennifer taught my husband and myself how to set healthy boundaries with our son. In my view this is when he began his recovery. To all of you thank you for your commitment to helping those who suffer with addiction, teaching the tools for recovery, and providing a community of continued support.” -Sincerely, Linda & John
“Florida House gave me the tools to learn how to cope with life and I got my life back. Life happens, but today I have coping skills to deal without drinking or using.” -Karen
“I came here with my son because he was going to die…and I walked away and expected nothing more than that. What I didn’t realize was that this experience would mean that both he would be rehabilitated and I would be rehabilitated.” –JT
“When I first came to The Florida House I was broken. I had feelings of despair, hopelessness, helplessness, everything was just wrong.
