The Florida House Experience is a drug, alcohol and co-occurring disorder treatment facility licensed by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Our approach to drug rehab programs and treatment is based on a long term model and is a more effective alternative to the traditional 28-day model also known at the “Florida model” of treatment. Our belief is that drub rehab programs in Florida and recovery is not only possible but more successful following long term drug treatment programs, Florida and treatment that includes multiple phases, including safe and medically monitored detox and an opportunity for individuals to gradually transition to lower levels of care. Our residents remain in our care, residing on our campus from anywhere between three months and two years. Our commitment to continuity of quality care is reflected in our long term model approach to treatment and our graduating alumni are testament to the success of our approach.

The Florida House Experience can therefore be termed as an all encompassing experience that offers a complete and comprehensive array of clinical services and care from detox, residential treatment, day/night treatment, intensive outpatient, outpatient, transitional living and sober living. Upon completion of our long term drug treatment programs and drug rehab programs in Florida residents can choose to live off campus in our graduate housing while still socially engaged in the sober community of the Florida House Experience. All drug treatment programs, services and residences are located on our beautiful 3 acre campus-style environment which is unique in that it is self-sufficient and offers numerous drug treatment programs - Florida and levels of care with the same treatment team from admission to discharge. In so doing we have maintained the integrity of our program and remained true to our vision and commitment to continuity of long term, quality care at an affordable price.
Our president and CEO Sherief Abu-Moustafa is a man with a vision and unrelenting determination to make his vision a reality. Sherief has, and continues to dedicate his life to enhancing the treatment experience for all addicts and alcoholics committed to embracing a new life experience. Those who know him well understand his compassionate nature, his love for people and his drive and motivation to continue to make a difference in the lives of suffering addicts and alcoholics. As a man who has been a lost soul and walked the path of addiction and loneliness, Sherief’s understands this disease on a personal level. His vision has led him to be an energetic dynamo in the field of addiction treatment and the Florida House Experience keeps growing. From a mere halfway house nearly a decade ago, the Florida House has undergone an immense transformation and is a 200 bed drug treatment facility with nationwide recognition. As a recovering addict and alcoholic himself, Sherief has come to realize his calling in sobriety and has worked tirelessly to create a treatment experience unlike any other. His efforts to build a sober community and family environment where individuals feel safe and secure with a sense of belonging has been rewarded by numerous alumni who stop in on the campus everyday for a delicious cup of coffee at JoJo’s Café, to attend a 12-step community meeting or to provide strength and support for our current residents. Our philosophy at the Florida House is deeply rooted in a sense of family and we always welcome our alumni as such.
